Geiranger Sjokolade Fjordnær is the world's first chocolate factory in a boathouse, established in 2010 in Holenaustet in the middle of Geiranger centre. Production, the café and the shop share the same space — visitors can watch the chocolate being made in the cellar. The products are inspired by fjord and mountain and made from local ingredients. The shop is open during the tourist season (May–September). The signature product is the award-winning brown cheese chocolate.
