Local food in Ål

Organic vegetables and good things to eat from 700 metres above sea level. Welcome to Ål markedshage in Hallingdal – a small mountain farm with a big heart for real, locally sourced food. We grow vegetables in season, make jam from our own berries and are happy to share farm life with you.

One of the oldest farms in Hallingdal, with a stabbur (traditional storehouse on pillars) and barn from the 1600s. Farm shop with mountain trout, lamb and other local products. Summer café from June to August.

Garden Oppheim is a sheep farm steeped in tradition in Torpo in Hallingdal, where animal welfare, local food and genuine craftsmanship take centre stage. Accommodation, meals and close contact with animals and nature.

Traditional bakery founded in 1987 in Leveld, Ål in Hallingdal. Started by three local women who wanted to preserve the art of traditional baking. Produces rummebrød (sour-cream flatbread), lefsekling (buttered lefse flatbread), gommokaku (sweet curd cake) and leveldlefse (Leveld-style lefse) according to old Hallingdal traditions.

Tre sauebønder frå Vats i Ål lagar kortreist lam og kjøttprodukter frå eigne dyr som beiter i Bergsjøområdet under Reineskarvet om sommaren. Spesialiserer på pinnekjøtt, fenalår, lammerull, fårikålkjøtt og julemat.
