Local food in Ål

Debio-certified market garden at Søre Dengerud, Øvre-Ål in Hallingdal, 700 m above sea level. It grows and sells pesticide-free vegetables, berries and herbs. It offers a community-supported agriculture share scheme, subscription boxes and an online shop with direct sales. Newly Debio-certified in June 2026.

Garden Oppheim is a sheep farm steeped in tradition in Torpo in Hallingdal, where animal welfare, local food and genuine craftsmanship take centre stage. Accommodation, meals and close contact with animals and nature.

One of the oldest farms in Hallingdal, with a stabbur (traditional storehouse on pillars) and barn from the 1600s. Farm shop with mountain trout, lamb and other local products. Summer café from June to August.

Traditional bakery founded in 1987 in Leveld, Ål in Hallingdal. Started by three local women who wanted to preserve the art of traditional baking. Produces rummebrød (sour-cream flatbread), lefsekling (buttered lefse flatbread), gommokaku (sweet curd cake) and leveldlefse (Leveld-style lefse) according to old Hallingdal traditions.

Tre sauebønder frå Vats i Ål lagar kortreist lam og kjøttprodukter frå eigne dyr som beiter i Bergsjøområdet under Reineskarvet om sommaren. Spesialiserer på pinnekjøtt, fenalår, lammerull, fårikålkjøtt og julemat.
