Norway's first community-supported agriculture scheme, established in 2006 at Øverland in Bærum. It is run by Øverland Andelslandbruk SA, which leases the land from the Braathen family, the owners of Øverland Gård. Around 450 members grow organic vegetables together on roughly 20 mål (about 2 hectares) through the season. The scheme does not sell vegetables loose: you buy a membership (a share) that gives you the right to harvest from the crop. Dairy and bakery goods and other products are available too, but only to members. Members buy their part of the production one year at a time and share the risk of variations in the harvest. It is Norway's largest community-supported agriculture scheme measured by membership, and a model for several dozen others run along the same lines.
