Local food in Rjukan

Stordalen Gardsbruk in Austbygd runs dairy production with Norwegian dairy goats and processes the goat's milk into dairy products, with brunost (brown whey cheese) as its speciality. The farm also sells meat from cattle, goats and kids, and keeps Telemark cattle as suckler cows. In summer the goats go up to the mountain summer pasture, where the farm has its own cheese dairy and a small summer outlet selling fresh cheese — from around the middle of June until the end of September.
